THANKS jcardana. Such great workarounds (and general advice)

I had figured out to add my transitions last and that was my current mode (still will be), but the select and then split I hadn't figured out (NICE) and the "Save As" another file and reopen works for me now as well.

I now have a quiver full of ways to get around this. You ROCK!!

Hi folks. Relatively new PowerDirector user here with no other video editing software experience (but experienced computer user). I am using 13 Ultra 13.0.2604.0. My computer is a almost new Acer laptop with 8gig ram and Windows 8

My problem is related to the use of the split function. I have a video all put together with transitions and everything and have done voice over work in several stages. In order to move my voice over track up into my track one audio track space, I hit split at a location of silence so I can trim and mate the two tracks. When I create the split (and do nothing else), it totally screws with my transitions downstream.

I did a screen capture to show the problem and have posted the short clip on YouTube.
