So I've come to the conclusion, even though it hasn't been said, that full screen snapshots (regardless of original video resolution) are not possible with PDVD14. That feature was apparently removed somewhere between version 9 and 14. I'll go back to 9.
Thank you Branais for your input as well.

I appreciate your attempting to help, but how did you capture it at 1920x1080 (what my monitor is also set for)? What settings and where are they in PowerDVD14 to do that? Size and resolution is an issue to me because I use screenshots for wallpaper and just like larger pictures without having to resize in an image editing program.
Was the full screen capture just taken away in version 14 over version 9? I'm almost ready to just return the version 14 and get my money back because version 9 met my needs.

Thank you for replying. In PowerDVD9, you could go into the settings and on the Player tab you would click the "Advanced" button, then the Capture tab. There you could set the "Capture aspect ratio" ("current video window size" is one of the options). Selecting that, the screen capture image would be the same size as what you are viewing. If you're viewing in full screen mode, the image comes out full screen size.
In version 14, the only capture options (now called "Snapshot") are the Snapshot format (.jpg, .bmp or .png) and the directory where screen captures are saved. The snapshot comes out the size of the original, non-fullscreen video regardless of the size you are viewing the video in.
I tried .jpg, .bmp and .png file formats, and high definition and standard definition videos. Nothing made a difference.
Properties of one .jpg capture:
Dimensions: 640x480 pixels
Resolution: 96dpi
Bit depth: 24
Programs used to view image: IrfanView, MS Office Picture Manager, Windows Photo Viewer, even tried PowerDVD 14 (doesn't matter what program, the image is the size it is).

I previously used PowerDVD 9 that came preinstalled on my desktop PC (and loved it). With 9 I could do a snapshot of a full screen when playing a DVD or playing a video on my hard drive.
I purchased PowerDVD 14 and cannot for the life of me figure out how to do a full screen snapshot. I play a DVD in full screen mode and do the snapshot, but the image created is not fullscreen. Any advice on how to get a snapshot to be the same size as what I'm viewing without having to edit the image afterward with an image editing program?
