Quote: Go into "Auto Play" in the control panel and make sure that Power DVD 14 isn't going to play the DVD automatically _ set it to "Take No action". I believe it's under "DVD Movie"
OK, doing this fixed my problem. Setting it to take no action did the trick.
I wonder why the seperate Windows settings would have anything to do with this, though? From what I can tell, it is PowerDVD that is "auto-detecting" disc insertion with one of its hidden processes, because it still detects the DVD or Blu-Ray disc and loads the movie information in the PowerDVD window, but doesnt actually start auto-playing it now.
Maybe there is a seperate windows process that is detecting the discs region when auto-play is enabled for Windows Media Player purposes?
I'm not sure what is going on. It is definitely Power DVD 14 related. The Blu-Ray region(A) resets listed in PowerDVD 14 is still showing as 5 resets available, but the hardware/firmware information in the control panel for my BD-Rom shows only 3 resets remaining, and it *is* set to region 1.
In PowerDVD 14, under settings/information it states:
Player Information:
Player region code: Not Specified
Current drive - F:\
Title region code: Not Specified
It's odd that it would say "not specified", as this is with a DVD disc in the BD-Rom drive.
Hello, I upgraded to a PIONEER Blue Ray player BD-ROM BDC-207D1 just prior to installing my retail version of PowerDVD 14. I have been attempting to play non-blue ray DVD's in the player using PowerDVD 14, but each time I try to play a DVD, I get a dialogue box saying that I need to select a region for the DVD I am trying to play. I am in the USA(RC1), and the DVD's I am trying to play are DVD's bought retail in the USA, so I don't understand why it is asking me to select a region with each DVD. I am down to 3 region resets remaining and I do not want to waste anymore. Can someone please explain or help me to prevent this from occurring?
I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit as my OS, using an Nividia GTX-760 video card.
