Yes I thought that it may be a problem with the file so I used the sample video file that came with the program - result same problem

Hi Carl312,
I loaded the K-lite codecs in there still seems to be a problem
The problem appears to only be in 2 areas these are:
The first is in the clip viewer (right side of software) the video when played is in black and white.
But if you drag that same file seen in the viewer down into the time line from the imported files area it now appears in color when played in the clip viewer.
The second area it is seen in when the a file is clicked in the imported files area and seen in the software's media viewer the video plays in black and white.

Hi Carl312 thanks for your reply
I checked the settings as you suggested but nothing is ticked.
However I reinstalled and got the same problem.
I then found that if I opened the file after production in VLC media player instead of Windows media play the file was ok. It must be to do with a windows codex file rather than a problem with the program.

I imported a movie into Director 10 and tried to render it as a different file type. When I looked at the movie produced it was almost black and white but there was a very small amount of color still in the produced video.
I though it might be the movie itself so I imported the sample movie provided with the program and produced another - Same problem
I then tried various jpg images and produced a movie these were alright.
I then tried 1 jpg and the sample movie - it rendered ok as an avi file but the others had the same problem
I installed the 3625 patch but his did not seem to stop the problem.
Has anybody else had this problem? If so what did you do to fix it
Thanks in advance for any help on this issue
