Hello I will try it and see how it does. I am only using trial version before I buy it and so far I am not liking it as it seems to want to crash a lot but is way better then other stuff I have tried. Thanks again guys for posting appreciate it a lot.

I don't think you understand what I am asking. I was using tmpgenc dvd author 1. something and its very old but good. I can take a dvd or mpeg2 files and import them into dvd author and make a menu and it does not re encode the video but just makes the new dvd files. From what I have worked with powerdirector so far after you either add the vobs or mpg2 files them make new menu it always wants to re encode the video as to where my old software does not do that. I don't want to loose quality.

Ok the videos are already mpeg2 and dvd standard settings as they came directly from a dvd. I extract the vobs from the dvd into mpeg2 with all the original settings and it still wants to encode the video even though its already mpeg dvd standard.

Hello guys I just downloaded a trial version of powerdirector 12 and have been looking at the different features and I am wanting to make a dvd video with the software without it re encoding the video. The video footage I have is already dvd video compliant. I am basically reauthoring already made dvd's with better menus. is there a way to set settings so it does not re encode the video so I can keep the quality of the already compliant mpeg2 file? Thanks guys hope to hear from you.

I wish I could but my internet connection is crappy and takes forever to even download a youtube vid. I have been using some other stuff but its very old and working with windows 8 I know its a matter of time before it won't work. Thanks for the input appreciate it. I will see how big of a file it is.

Hello guys I am new here and am looking to get powerdirector 11 and I just have one question. If I already have dvd compliant mpeg 2 files and if I want to use powerdirector to make dvd's does it have an option to where I don't have to re-encode the videos? Other software always wants to re-encode the video even though its already dvd compliant. I want to keep the original mpeg2 video quality the same. I am wanting to get up to date software and cyberlink seems the way to go. Hope to get some answers. I should not have any problems getting around the program as I have been burning and authoring for years.
Thanks guys
Eric
