I have 14.5meg project file that has been corrupted before. I have fixed it with a hex editor by putting the first few missing lines.

I have done a save as several times and today the save as file gives me a file broken error. My main file gives me the save error, after I got a debug error.

I can create a new small project file and open it with no problems. It would be nice to know why Power Director is corrupting files and why it won't open these files.

I have called tech support, but they don't seem interested is finding out the true problem. I have offered to mail them the project and the supporting files, but all they tell me is to backup up the files. Well I did that and that didn't get me anywhere. One would think if you did a save as on a good file, that the save as file would be good.

Just a little frustrated, since this project has over 100 hours worth of time in it. I do have a backup from 5 days ago that works, but I would really like to have a good solution to this problem.

As a software developer myself, I take no comfort in tech support telling me it is not their problem. It's your software that is causing the problem, so yes it is your fault.

I'm using PD 5 build 2505a.

Thanks
Dwight
