I didn't realize it was so simple! Thanks so much! I tested it out on a small file, double-checked it using GSpot, and it worked perfectly. (sorry for posting in the wrong forum I thought "AudioDirector" was just a fancy name indicating that this was the place to discuss audio issues with the PD software).
I'm creating programs for my church group to air on our local cable station. The station requires the files to be MPEG-2 video, and MPEG audio layer 2. When producing through PD9 (laptop) or PD10 (desktop) I cannot figure out how to change the audio codec when selecting the MPEG-2 file format option. I had thought that it was doing this automatically but when our program aired it had no audio so I just found out about GSpot which shows what video and audio codecs are in a file. Mine show MPEG-2 video, but AC3 audio. If someone can please instruct me how to have a final produced file that is MPEG-2 audio layer 2 I'd be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance!
