Quote: You can create a glowing border in PIP designer by using a mask and giving it a border.

The picture is a VERY rough example to give you an idea

Thanks for all your help guys, but I've discovered an even simpler method. Ther's no need for any FX, or PIP actions. Simply double click on the image in the timeline to open that image's properties window. In there you can select the Border checkbox and then set border width, blur and colour. Click the Save button and its done. Simple as that!
Quote: Hi David

If you have your photo on the timeline just go to FX room and, for example select the "glow" effect and drag it down to your photo. If you double click on that photo you can adjust the effect settings in the PIP designer. There are many effects that you can add and most are self explanitary by the names.

I hope this helps you

Actually, the "glow" effect makes the whole image glow, not just the border. I'll see if there is the appropriate effect I am looking for named something else. Thanks.
Well, the title just about says it. I am importing photos to create a slideshow. I want to add image effects such as glow, blur, shadows etc. to those images. I can do all that in Powerpoint but I want to use just one tool, i.e. PD13 to do everything.

Can image effects, as opposed to video and transition effects, be done in PD13?

I am newbie to PD13.

Thanks for your help.
Hi, I am creating a slideshow of wedding photos as a 1920 x 1080 video. When I import my photos, they always come in resized to fill the 1080 pixel height and fully fill the height of the frame. Whilst I can resize and re-position the photo manually, is there a way to automatically set that by default whenever you import a new photo so that they are all the same? I need at least space at the bottom to place the sub-title and some space at the top, just for elegance sake.

Thanks for your help.
