Hi -
I want to bump this issue up again. I just loaded PD11 onto my new Win 8.1 Dell XPS 15 laptop, running at the native/recommended 3200 x 1800 screen resolution. I updated to the latest version of PD11 and find that nothing has changed. PD still does not scale properly, even when changing the screen resolution settings, leaving the OS magnifier tool as the only way to see the 2mm tall menus and drop-down selections! Very disappointing. I don't have the real-estate to install a 32" monitor just to overcome this issue.
Has anyone figured out another workaround yet?

I did some experimentation before committing to an install on my Win7 Quad Processor desktop. I basically just tried to view some video content from my cam on a remote session from within the home network (192.168.1.server schema). I found that the 1080p 30fps video looked like it was shot in slow motion when run on the server and controlled on the laptop. Viewing the same video from the shared server drive on the laptop prouced somewha jumpy/skippy video, but it ran in real-time speed. So, since my home network is running faster than my ISP's connetion speed, and since the home network remote session was so slow, I am thinking that this will not work with my current hardware. Looks like I will have to install on my laptop.
As I mentioned, my laptop hard drive is nearly full now. Does PD10 work OK with video files stored on an external HD connected via USB-2 port? Video plays OK from the USB drive, but still a bit jumpy/skippy.

Thank you for the advice. I think the only way to see if this works is to try it. I will install on the desktop and try operating it remotely. If that does not work, do you know if uninstalling from the desktop would permit me to re-install on the laptop, using the same installation key, or are there MAC-associated registration issues that would prevent one copy from being re-installed on a different machine? Still only using one license on one PC, but just not sure which PC until I try this. I suppose this comes up more frequently when someones hard drive or PC needs replacement and a new install from original disks is required. Do you know if this do-able?

Newbie here - PD 10 Ultra still in the shrink-wrapped box and already some questions.
1) My most powerful computer is a Win7 Quad Processor, but this is at my cottage, not at my home. The computer I do 99% of my "work" on is a pentium laptop with a nearly full HD. Ideally, I would like to install PD10 Ultra on the powerful desktop at the cottage, and do my creative work on the laptop, linked over internet to the desktop machine via Windows Remote Desktop. Even with broadband internet, is this practical? I would copy the raw video files to the desktop at my cottage and then just "operate" the desktop remotely from my laptop at home, leaving all the heavy duty rendering stuff to the desktop machine.
2) If remote desktop is not practical, is it possible to install (from box version) on both the laptop and the desktop? I would not want to commit my remaining laptop resources to PD10, but installing it only on the remote desktop makes it inaccessible most ot the time since that machine is 300 miles away and only "visited" on weekends.
3) I just saw the post saying that PD11 is about to be released. Since my PD10 Ultra is still in the wrapper, and since they seem to jab you on upgrades, what is the recommendation of the forum regarding return and wait vs use it and upgrade later if nec. I am not anticipating doing anything super creative, just home video editing, and can easily wait for the newer version if that is the consensus.
