you know ... i thought i would give 11 and 12 another go, but now I can't even patch. the downloaders are not doing anything.

The lack of updates is frustrating to say the least. I have powerdvd 11 and 12. 11 works with BSG box set. 12 does not STILL.
I should note that I run windows 8.

PDVD 12 on Win 8 is just annoying. Random errors about files it can't find. Discs stop playing when you hit play. This is on 2118. Disc is Season one episodes of battlestar galactica. Please fix thanks.

I am also on 12 2118A.57
iphone 5 ios 6
I have tried various things including all the steps listed in the FAQ. I have disabled my AV and my firewall.
I still can not get powerdvd remote to see a server.

Downloading ... thanks!
Edit: this appears to have done the trick. Thanks for your hard work!

where did you guys buy your copies from?

Still eyeballing this thread for any announcements. I had the courage to buy powerdvd 11 so the resolution of this matter will determine if I am to be a future customer.

LG confirmed a firmware update will not fix this issue.
"Thank you for contacting LG Electronics. We apologize for the inconvenience this may be causing. The updates and patches in this case would be provided by Cyberlink for new bluray movies. The firmware updates that we provide are for the hardware and they only add functionality to new types of recordable discs or Operating System compatibility.
If you have other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again either via email, or by calling our customer service division "

Almost makes me want to just buy a Blu Ray player and watch it seperate from my computer...
Some sony PS3's and stand alone Blu Ray players are also having issues playing the new fox discs. Not just Cyberlink having the issue. I visited Arcsoft's site as well and their forums are similar to ours with the problems playing the discs. This is Fox updating their encryption on the discs I am 90 percent sure. For whatever reason there is a breakdown in communication to the hardware/software people over the various platforms. Or due to the way the discs are produced the companies have not been able to head this sort of thing off until they get a hold of the discs.
Either way it is just a pain for us while we wait for the companies to scramble and get some code pushed out. Thanks fox. really appreciate it.

I decided to poke LG support to see if there may possibly be a firmware update needed.
|
|
They replied to me on facebook after i asked about the color artifacts with the following: "Our team is buying more discs of Starwars from more countries and checking various version/platform. Will keep looking into the issue until all fixed."
Not sure what to make of it. Perhaps different region discs are setup uniquely.

I also downloaded build 2114 today and I can at least play star wars without the application freezing up. However, I still get the weird color artifacts at random points. I can not make it repeat at any exact time stamp either. One moment we are watching just fine, the next all kinds of weird pixelation and color fragments all over the screen. Drivers are up to date and LG has not pushed any new firmware out for a while.
