Quote: Hi Hoova,

Following my report on the Optimus/Nvidia and PD9 issue:
Item: 201
Please reference: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/17598.page#90983
Are the Nvidia settings shown in the pdf the same as what your set up is?
Please confirm you have carried out the same method as described in the pdf.
Thanks.

CL are also requesting a sample clip from you please, 5 to 10 seconds long, unedited attached to your reply please.

CL are still investigating.

These are the exact steps I have taken to ensure that PD9 harnesses my GPU. Unfortunately I see no difference in the lag time experienced. Preview mode, even at lowest quality, remains jumpy and lags and skips on simple transitions.

By an unedited clip, do you mean the raw footage I'm using?

Thanks.
Your theories are correct. My laptop contains a NVidia GeForce GT540 1gb graphics card and wasn't utilising it for PD9. As a result, it was only using the 64mb integrated graphics on the processor and underperforming.

A description of this problem can be seen here:

I have had this problem, as my Samsung laptop contains one of the new I7 Sandy Bridge processors that uses Optimus technology. As was stated, my DxDiag stated that there was only 64mb of graphic memory available, when in fact I have a NVidia GeForce GT 540M graphics card using 1gb of memory.

After a bit of prodding, I've come across graphics card settings, where you can set the default graphics settings for each program. I will PD9 to use my NVidia card, and come back with the results.
Hi there,

I've searched and read through many forum posts regarding this issue (e.g. http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/17440.page#88443), but have been unable to find an easy fix. The main fix involves reinstalling the program, however I've had this issue since I first installed it, so I don't think that will work.

So here's my problem:

When editing or viewing edited video in the preview window, I run into lag.

For example, when editing, dragging the bar or clicking on a new clip it takes a second or two to register.

When previewing video, it is very jumpy, particularly around transitions like fades.

Below are my DxDiag stats for 32 and 64bit.

I am running PowerDirector 9 ver. 9.0.0.2702

Thanks for your help!
