Quote: The ATI 5800 series is not a GPU supported item. However, your PC should still do fine rendering HD video.

It's too bad it's not supported. Perfectly good and powerful GPU just sitting there unutilized by video encoding. I've heard other people saying HA improved their encoding time by 35%.
Yes I did. I thought you were replying that this is a duplicate post. You must've meant to reinforce that this is a problem. Thanks.

@Jaime: Not really helpful. I did search the forums and at least look for some other people having this problem but couldn't find an exact match or a good solution. Do you have a link?

@Allen: Yes, I got the card for gaming, 4x faster than my 4850. But anyways, the quality appears to be fine considering the source. My gramma recorded it on an old 8mm film which was later copied to a VCR tape, and now captured digitally. There is a ton of artifacts from the old film but I can't see any prominent "lines" with HA checked. That list you posted isn't very extensive ...

I guess I could look for a different program which will utilize my card, but does anybody know how often CyberLink updates their stuff to support new cards? I really like the ease of use of PD9 (not including the menu designer) so I don't want to switch and learn a whole new program.
I captured a video from my gramma's old VCR home video tape. I clicked Create Disc and ticked "Enable hardware video encoder" but for some reason GPU-Z isn't showing more than a 5-6% utilization. My system:
Core i5 2500k
Asus P8P67 Pro Mobo (P67 so it should use my discrete GPU)
Radeon 5870 with latest 11.3 Catalyst Driver and AVIVO installed.

I attached a screenshot of the GPU load in GPU-Z and it always shows 0-6% utilization. Why so low!?

I've read several other posts saying that the problem was AVIVO not being installed or needing the latest drivers, or not checking the box but that doesn't fix it for me.

Thanks,
Jim
