Hi Dafydd,

Yes, I have all the latest Windows Updates. I'm running IE version 9.0.8112.16421.

Cheers,
Brett
Thanks for the heads up Dafydd.

I've just installed the patch, but this still hasn't fixed the problem. It still shows an empty window for the Magic Motion templates.

Regards,
Brett
Thanks again Bubba,

It's good to know it's consistent (albeit annoying)!

Brett
Thanks Bubba,

Any chance you could post a video doing the same steps as mine? It'll be interesting to see the difference.

I have used the method you showed before, but when I found the Slideshow Designer way, it is much easier, especially for simple zoom/pan motion. I'm trying to put together a slideshow with 135 photos. Each one takes 30-60 seconds to create the motion in Slideshow Designer, but would take at least double that with the method you showed. It does have a lot more control, but all I want to do is set the zoom and position on the first frame, and reset it on the last. PD can then do the bit in between for me.

I've tried 3 builds of PD9, two supplied by Cyberlink support, over the course of 2+ months, but my problem has persisted. I have noticed a few other people in the forums talk of the same issue. One solved it by re-installing Windows, which is not something I want to entertain. I live in hope that a future patch will solve the problem.

Ultimately if Slideshow Designer allowed me to set the duration of each image, then I may not really need the Magic Motion templates anyway (at least not at this stage).

Cheers,
Brett
Thanks for the replies guys!

Carl312: The main reason I'm using Slideshow Designer is so I can create the motion. The transition effects are fairly simple, but they fit with the slideshow I'm trying to create. Whilst I can set the duration of the images and use transition effects, this doesn't give me the motion I'm looking for.

Bubba in NV: Thanks for the video. I've never seen what Magic Motion templates are available. I have installed a downloaded version. I have installed the Content Pack more times than I can remember, but I've never had the templates.

Attached is a short video showing the Magic Motion area with 0 templates. It then shows adjusting the duration of the image, using the Slideshow designer to create the motion effect, then PD shortening the image fro 20 seconds to 5 seconds. I have looked in all the Slideshow Designer menus, but there's no way I can find to set the duration.

Thanks again,
Brett
Hi all,

I'm using the latest build of PD9. Since day one (2 builds ago) I've not had any Magic Motion templates to use. I am still in contact with the support department over this issue, but I'm less and less confident it'll be fixed. In the meantime I've found that I can relatively easily create motion slideshows using the 'Motion' template of Slideshow Designer. This is all well and good, and I've just noticed it is possible to go back and edit the effects afterwards which is excellent. However, the duration for each photo appears fixed at 6 seconds (including 1 second of fade in and 1 second of fade out). This creates slideshows that appear rushed. In my preferences I've set 'Image File' duration to 10 seconds but this has no effect.

Is there a way to change the duration of each image when using Slideshow Designer? I noticed this came up in the PD8 forum, but I didn't see an answer, and I couldn't see anything similar raised on PD9.

Thanks,
Brett
Hi mg,

I see no easy solution to the problem at this stage. I've been in contact with Cyberlink support for a couple of months on this issue and to date have done the following:

1) Reinstalled the software 3 times from different versions supplied by Cyberlink
2) Supplied the screenshots of the problem and my system specs twice
3) Provided proof of purchase

And after all that I'm still where I started...no magic motion templates. My problem is with the 64-bit version, so perhaps in some way it's good to know it's not just a 64-bit issue.

I hope you have more luck finding a solution.

Regards,
Brett
Thanks HalCon,

I've upgraded my video card to a GTS-450 from an 8400GS but this hasn't changed anything. With hardware Acceleration enabled or disabled I still have the same problems. Attached are the DxDiag results for both cards and a screenshot of what it looks like. I'm running build 9.0.0.2504 (Ultra64).

I have a few other issues at the moment too:
1) No magic motion templates
2) Unable to connect to Youtube, Flickr or Freesound
3) Random crashes

Cheers,
Brett
It sounds like I have experienced similar problems. At random times during the production phase, the production simply stops. The program doesn't crash, and the elapsed time and time remaining counts continue to increase. The data written and time through the video do not change and the CPU usage drops from 100% to 0%.

I have the latest PD9 build and video drivers. I found the only reliable way to produce the video was to enable the preview. I have tried twice and it has generated successfully both times. Without the preview I'm running at about a 5% rate of successfully producing a 15min 720p mpeg2 video.

Hi all,

I'm a newbie to PowerDirector, and have 9 Ultra64 build 2504 running on Windows 7 Home 64 bit. I also have no Magic Motion templates. I have reinstalled the Content pack in the hope that that would fix it, but it didn't. I havent' reinstalled PD9 yet, and would hope that I don't have to.

Any thoughts other than a reinstall of PD9/Win7?

Thanks,
Brett
