OK, I updated to the latest version ( I should have checked that ) Then, selected off the feature for "enable file processing". I ran a create disk to file operation and it succeeded! I'll continue to work with disk and file, and hopefully will have much better luck now. Thank you very much!!!

I need to add that I have Windows 7 running on all my PCs. I had some issues like this also when I had XP as well.

Hello Kind Moderators,
I've read through about 20 pages of this forum and found one listing with the same error I have constantly been receiving. Unfortunately, there were no string replies. Here is Vincint's message:

Hello, Has anyone gotten the following message while trying to burn a DVD?
"Burning unsuccessful, possible causes AuthoringMgr could not do file access for temporary files."
I burned a short project (10 min) with no problem. This project was longer (2:20)
Thanks,
I get the same message very frequently. In fact, it is rare that I can successfully burn to either DVD or file without getting the message.
Here are things I've tried:
o Restart computer and open only PD8 and try to create disk.
o Produce an MP4 file of the project. I do this successfully.
o Try reloading files from the camera files to the project.
My systems are up-to-date with latest patch for PD8. I am using HP dv6 PC with 4G RAM, and lots of disk space available. I had this issue with my previous PC too, a HP dv-5000. As I say, once in a blue moon I do get a succsesful write, but there is not ryme or reason why. Usually, it will be if I have freshly restarted the PC. I am the only user on the PC. So, if creating a DVD disk or write to file works sometimes, it should work consistently, I would think. As with Vincint above, my projects range from 20 minutes to close to an hour, with camera segments loaded in. I don't add much more other than maybe a title to the project. So, I feel these are pretty simple projects. Oh, my camera is a Canon Vixea HF200.
