I got build 2508 after submitting a ticket (i7 920, 12GB RAM, dual ATI 4870 in crossfire, vista 64 ultimate).

I was able to render a 15 minute movie in 720p that I could not render in anything but SD MPEG2 with build 2220c.

Seems like clips that have a lot of stabilization, enhance, magic motion tend to crash PD much more, but it was able to render it now without crashing....(running on all 8 cores with ati GPU acceleration on).

I was able to work on a XviD clip that used to crash PD, so I agree that it is getting better. __________________________________

How did you install the new version?
Simply installing upon the existing version (build 2220 in my case) ?
Remove the old version and start a new installation?
- What then with the registration key (I originally had LOTS of troubles with that!)
...another method?

Michael.

I first uninstalled 2220c and then installed 2508. After installing the PD setup file make sure to install the content pack. When you stat PD the first time it will ask you for the activation key. Just use whatever one that you received when you purchased PD. Q9300 2.5 GHz

Got 2508 installed. Couple of things: 1) I cannot enable "Enable Hardware Decoding" under the Preferences/Editing Tab. It is greyed out. I can enable the box above it for ATI Stream Technology for the preview but I had the ATI Stream Tech. enabled in the 2220c build for rendering. Why not now? Strangely enough, I can select either SVRT or Hardware encoder for the Produce tab. I have an ATI HD4890 so I would think that's capable of Hardware Decoding. 2) For some strange reason, I cannot enter DirectorZone through PD8. It keeps saying I'm using an invalid username or Password, even though I typed in exactly the email address AND PW that I use at the website through my browser and that site accepts it. Any ideas?
