Dell xps 8500 running windows 10 does not support windows 10 software drivers. Consequently the Power Director 365 driver for my cd/dvd burner is not recognized by my computer. A disk being inserted in the drive is unrecognizable and burning is impossible because of this Windows 10 driver.

Hi,

Yes, your 8500 was not officially supported by Dell or MS to run Win 10, although many users were successful in getting it to operate perfectly well. I understand that the later versions of Win 10 were less forgiving in some regards.

On the assumption that your diagnosis is correct and the OS does not work with the PDR drivers, then I think you have 2 options :

Raise a ticket with CS (see link below) and see if they have any suggestions

Use PDR to prepare and create a disc folder, then either get that burnt on another system or, trial other 3rd party image burning software that might function on your system and, if you find one that works, use that to burn your dvd.
