powedirector 20.4 not showing some transitions at the end clip

Hello, I'm trying to put a similar transition at the beginning and end of an image and the transition at the beginning is displayed fine, but the one at the end does nothing. Sometimes I try another type of transition and the same thing happens with the one at the end but it seems that it does something like a zoom.

It happens to me with some transitions only at the end, with others they work fine at the beginning and end of the same clip.
For example, it happens to me with geometry.

Please help, I've tried everything and searched the forums and nothing.
I have changed rendering with and without gpu etc and nothing.

Thank you

Hmm.
I have this question too.
I did some testing with a number of transitions (20.8.3211). Many transitions, when put at the end of a clip work as expected: they do their bit as if the next clip is black (dark). Some transitions, like a number in Geometric do not work at all, when put at the end without a following clip. They seem to work fine at the beginning as you mention.
I have also tried to trick the program: put a clip behind the clip put a transition to overlap both and then drop the opacity of the 2nd clip to 0. Then again the transition does not show. Also putting a transition to overlap a clip and a second clip that has a zeroe opacity, does not work either.....
Cutting the end of the clip into 2 pieces and put a transition over it works, but gives unexpected results to say the least.
And for a number of the transitions I see that when the second clip opacity is almost 0 for the duration of the transition in the second clip the second clip is visible and sometimes even overexposed.

I think that an error report should be made (and I have). Unless I oversee something?

Hi,

I have no definitive answer but, from studying the way a number of transitions work, I would suggest that those transitions that are designed to take information from the following clip, as part of the transition visualisation, are the ones that don't work.

You will notice that a lot of transitions flow from left to right, and take information from the following clip to the right. Logically, if there is no information, because there is no clip, then the transition will not display correctly.

If a following clip is there, even a black colorboard, then the transition can work correctly, but only if it is set to Overlap or Cross. If it is set only as a transition at the end of a clip, it may still "work" but not display correctly.

I suspect it may be a case of trial and error as to what works well enough for a particular purpose.

Cheers
