Can't change the aspect ratio

Hello everyone

I've got a laptop running Vista with a ATI HD 3470 video card. I want to connect it to my HDTV, with a HDMI cabel. Everything works, but I can't change the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9. I used other software as well (such as VLC Mediaplayer), but there I didn't have any problems changing the aspect ratio. Any suggestions?

please let us know what Aspect Ratio do you want to change (Display or Content)?

Did you try Settings > Aspect Ratio ?

My PowerDVD 9 Ultra aspect ratio's are grayed out and don't let me change them. It is set to 4:3. I need 16:9. Please help. Thanks.

can you please provide more detail information:

1. what Display resolution is used
2. what content do you want to playback (e.g. Disc title)
3. what aspect ratio has the content
