I have power director 15. I'm about to buy PD20. Do I keep both on my PC, or does PD20 write over PD15? How do I transfer all my custom settings to PD20? They would include the custom producer profiles, the custom titles and other features that I've made and saved?
I am running WIN 11 on a fast Dell Workstation.

You can go ahead and install PD20. Leave PD15 in place so you will have both versions. The custom produce profiles, custom titles, particles, PiP objects, transitions, and menus from my previous PD versions all appear in PD20/365.

Don’t know what you mean by settings. There are no custom settings I made in PD15 unless you mean like in the custom titles, etc.

Thanks, tomasc. That's exactly the answer I was looking for. The 'customized titles, etc. . . is what I meant by 'custom settings.' I'm surprise I couldn't easily find it on my own.

I just installed PD20. My custom Titles did carry over. But several custom settings DID NOT carry over from PD15. 1. my favorite transitions were missing and 2. My Custom profiles for H264/mp4 output were missing. Anyplace I can find and restore these two customizations? I know where the default transitions are on my PC, but I don't see the customized profiles.

Also, in the timeline, below the preview screen, PD15 hilited whether it was in the 'clip' or 'movie' mode. I don't see that in PD20. [It makes a big difference which mode you are in when you hit 'Home' or 'End.']

Hi,

Try here:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\15.0\UserConfigure

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\20.0\UserConfigure

Cheers

Thanks. It got me headed in the right direction. I figured out how to migrate the custom Producer profile from PD15 to PD20.

–I opened the PD15 and PD20 Profile.ini files in Notepad. [. . . AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\15.0\UserConfigure]

–I added the text from the Profile.ini in PD20 [it’s easy to see where and how to add]. I saved it as Profile15+20.ini.

–I renamed the Profile.ini in PD20 to Profile_0.ini

–Then I copied Profile15+20.ini to the folder C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\20.0\UserConfigure\ and renamed it Profile.ini

–The custom profiles showed up immediately in PD20, which I left open.

–I also created a custom profile for a different file format. It was immediately ‘created’ in same Profile.ini file in 20.0.

PS. I'm surprised Cyberlink hasn't created and import and export settings app, like to one on MS Office products.
