I ran through the standard process.
1) Uninstall previous versions
2) Remove all traces on the hard drive
3) Turn of firewall, and antivirus
4) Make sure no host entries for CyberLink exist in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host
4) Reboot computer and try again
These have not resolved my problem. After sending all my sys info to the support team, I decided to take things into my own hands by analyzing the connection. Using Fiddler software, I saw that it was trying to connect to cap.cyberlink.com.
After trying to ping it, it seems it can't resolve the DNS entry. Running an external internet diagnostic tool, it seems servers from San Francisco could reach it and other servers (Texas, Denver) couldn't.
So I ran the host through a system that gave the IP Address.
Once I created the following and saved it to my host file in: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host
72.52.84.210 cap.cyberlink.com
... I was then able to successfully activate it.
Hopefully, this helps some of you!
Bye
