When I select a custom mask over an image layer the image becomes dark when I place the first point. So dark I cannot see in the darker areas where to put the mask points. Any way to view the image brightly as it is before I start the mask?

I'm not quite clear on what you're trying to do. Are you applying an existing custom mask or are you creating one? Is your background image very dark?

It should look like this if you're editing an existing custom mask:

And like this if you're creating one:

Maybe take a screenshot and attach it so we can see what you're seeing on your end. If the clip is simply too dark, use the Fix / Enhance | Color Adjustment settings to temporarily bring up the brightness so they'll show up better in the Mask Designer tool.

Hi,

I agree that having a "dark" mask makes fine placement of mask points difficult, as far as I am aware there is no way to user define the mask opacity as there is in the Brush Mask Designer module .

However, as a workaround, if you invert the mask, then the image becomes "normal" and you can see to get the finer placement that might be needed. Untick the inversion when mask design is complete and you should be good to go?

Maybe that helps?
