Playhead snaping to video overlay when inserting to timeline

Is there a way to stop the playhead from snaping to and following a video overlay when inserting it to the time line? The playhead follows the overlay when trying to position it. I have used Filmora and the playhead stays stationary when inserting a video overlay. Is this the default action in Powerdirector?

Hi,
As far as I know there is no way to change this default behaviour. The playhead always follows the 1st frame of a selected clip or group. In your example, by highlighting and inserting the clip in question, it is de facto selected and PDR treats it as such and so the playhead follows the first frame.

I have noticed that audio clips behave a little differently depending on their position on a timeline relative to other clips, but that is a different situation.

Cheers
