So frustrated/Select all on track

Has the ability to "select all" clips on a given track been taken away? This is so frustrating. I have to go through the clips one by one as I hold down the ctrl key and click them to highlight more than one at a time. Sometimes hundreds of very short audio clips. I used to be able to do this properly, but I've done everything under the sun to try and get this to work again short of just ditching the program. Thanks!

Click on any timeline clip and use Ctrl+A to "select all" just like in any other app. If you only want to select all the clips on a single track, you'll want to click on the padlock icon on all other tracks first to lock all the clips there so they won't be selected.

Alternately, zoom the timeline all the way out and click on the first clip on the desired track, then hold the Shift key down and click on the last clip in the track to only select clips on that track.

Hi,

In addition to optodata's points :

In workflow terms, probably the neatest way is to place cursor on the track index column (far left of timelines) > rt click > Select Lock/Unlock all tracks. This will lock or unlock all tracks. Now all tracks are locked.

Select the Track(s) required and manually unlock by selecting the padlock item.
Note that if you need to keep all audio and video linked then you need to unlock both the video and audio portion of the track. (Unlocking only one will enable the video or audio track to be handled independently)

Ctrl+A will select all the clips in the unlocked tracks.
Edit/copy/ or whatever

Re-selecting Lock/Unlock all tracks after completing your edits will return the timelines to normal.

Cheers,

I didn't notice anything, I went to check this one out as usual.
I can select everything on one or more tracks.
1 - Dragging the cursor to hug all clips.
2 - Click on the first one, hold down the Shift key and click on the last one.

Since you say hundreds of short audio clips, yes, apparently some PD20 releases broke some selection techniques for a group of audio clips on a track. The referenced technique, zoom the timeline all the way out and click on the first clip on the desired track, then hold the Shift key down and click on the last clip in the track to only select clips on that track, no longer works correctly for audio only clips.

The lasso option for selecting audio may help you.
