How do I save the already built part of the project?

I'm not 100% clear on what you're asking, but if PD has frozen then you can't manually save the project you were working on. You'll have to use Task Manager to kill it or reboot your computer.

Usually PD is set to automatically save projects every x minutes, so open the Preferences | Project menu and click on the Browse tab to find the most recently saved version of your current project:



You should also plan to save the project fequently as you work (Ctrl+S), and/or change the auto save frequency to be 2 or 3 minutes so you won't lose too much work in a crash.
