I have been watching Lost for last couple of weeks (i have all 5 seasons of Lost on BluRay).
Each time I watch them on Power DVD 9 Ultra (not a trial) and the show freezes, but the audio keeps on moving, then it catches up to where the audio is.

I tried WinDVD 2010 Pro, works perfect, I just dont like the way WinDVD controls audio.

My system specs:

Core2Quad 2.83
EVGA Motherboard with 780 nvidia chipset
EVGA 275 GTx video card
300 VelociRaptor WD Hard Drive
6 GB of OCZ Ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
24 inch Dell Monitor
Logitech THX Speakers
LG Blu Ray Player (just purchased it) SATA

Im having simmilar issues with just about every blue ray title I have. MONSTER freaking box that registers about 2% CPU during playback. NO issues except about 30 minutes in Power DVD craps its pants and my kids are now screaming that UP is toast.

Hi all,

I'm having the same problem, all of my BluRays freeze randomly, video stops and audio keeps playing, then video catches up.

PowerDVD 9 Ultra Version 9.0.2320.a
PowerDVD SR Number DVD091223-02
Win 7 Home Premium x64 Bit
PowerDVD is Retail (bought online at Cyberlink's store)
nVidia GeForce GTX 280
nVidia Geforce Driver 196.21
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio
Creative driver version 6.10.0.209
Display connection via DVI
Single monitor
McAfee Virus Scan v. 13.15

As you can see, I have AnyDVD and DVD Region Free installed, both of them were NOT running when having this issue. I'm attaching my DXDiag and the CollectUserInfo.cab.

Please help me, BluRay playback has become very annoying .
Thank you for your support.

Regards,
Jorge

I'm having the same problem as well.

I'm running a duel Xeon quad core (8 cores total) with 12 gigs of RAM. So CPU and memory usage are quite low.

I've gone through two video cards and two different Blu-Ray drives trying to resolve the problem; no joy. I tried switching from AVS to Microsoft Security Essentials. That made no difference. I offloaded a number of tasks to another machine to eliminate all other programs running concurrently. That made no difference.

I did not used to have the problem.

Has anyone resolved this yet? It's driving me crazy!

And yes, it's happening on ALL of my Blu-Rays, including discs brand new out of box. DVD's do not experience the problem.

Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Power DVD 9 Ultra 9.0.2528.51 SR DVD091203-02

I don't know about the other folks here, but I'm running the latest version. In fact it's occurred to me that my problems started about the date that it released. Is it possible to roll back to an earlier version in case the problem IS the latest patch?

Hi Aaron,

roll back is only possible with original version + earlier patch you stored on your HDD

can you please post a full DXDIAG log here?

Thanks and Br

Well, needless to say I don't keep earlier build versions of your software laying around.

But I can attach a DxDiag. And have done so here.

I just tried playing a title with the PowerDVD 10 trial version. It had the exact same problem as I am experiencing with PowerDVD 9 Ultra.

I've installed ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platnum, and it plays perfectly.

That seems to be in line with the experience above with the user who stated that using WinDVD works for them.
