This is very strange indeed. Not only that - it is not a joke!
I recently recorded a dance concert (3 cameras rolling, but that's irrelevant) and I'm in the process of syncing the different camera angles etc... Prior to this, I had done quite a bit of cropping (to achieve a closer view) and some video enhancement (mainly denoise). Each clip was pre-rendered as mpeg2 DVD HQ.
It was all rollicking along fairly well till I...
1. Placed a clip on the timeline (off the Canon SF 100, recorded at 17MBps)
2. Cropped the video throughout (as I'd done with dozens of clips recorded at the same concert)
3. Applied a modicum of video denoise, using the split screen to monitor.
4. Produced the file.
Nothing wrong so far...
5. Placed the produced file in a PIP track to sync with the others.
6. There was a split screen on my produced file! To make matters even more "interesting", the thing that looks like a split screen, moves from side to side, providing a delightful demonstration of how video denoise has been applied to different parts of the clip.
Please try not to get too excited when you look at the attached image. This is a screen shot of the produced file as it appears in Media Player Classic HomeCinema... just like in the preview screen.
Don't worry - I don't really expect anyone to have an answer. Just thought my terrible plight might give someone a good giggle.
Cheers - Tony
