How do I get chapters to retun to the menu after they are completed rather than to run continuously?

Hi Mike,

When you are on the Create Disc menu, you will find a field labeled "Playback Mode." You have three choices...select the last choice..."Play Selected Title Only", then it goes back to the Menu.

Just to be clear...If you add 5 videos to a disc, each video becomes a TITLE. When creating a video, you can insert CHAPTERS within the video clip. So there is a little difference in the terms we are both discussing. So I hope I am understanding the question you are asking.

I attached an image of the choices in the Playback Mode Window. Let us know if you have trouble making those changes.

Good Luck,
Kevin

Is there such option in PowerDirector 6 as well? I tried but I could not find it.

The short answer is No!

In PD7 there is no “Return to Menu” capability, i.e. once you select a “chapter” from your menu, that chapter will play and then all the remaining chapters will also play until the end of your disc.

In PD8, where Cyberlink introduced this feature, it doesn't work the way it should.

In PD8 you can get a “Return to Menu” after you select a title, but you cannot then use the “Play All” feature – only the first title will play. If you set it up so that “Play All” will work, then the “Return to Menu” will not. Cyberlink is aware of this problem and their research and development department is supposed to be attempting to correct it. (I haven’t checked the latest patches – maybe it has been fixed by now! We can but dream!!)

Thank you very much for the reply.

I have installed PD8 (upgraded from PD6).

Despite from not getting the function to work in PD8, the PD8 use too much CPU so the program almost stalls. I have to wait for hours in order to access the program again.

I have done all the countermeasures that I found on this forum (defrag, increase memory, Tune Up utilities etc)....

But the problem with high CPU usage does not resolve. I will uninstall PD8 and downgrade to my previous PD6, which worked almost flawlessly for me...except from the inability to set the play mode----
