Hi Tabletguy,
Right click on any of your clips that you have imported to the Library (where you drag your clips from), and choose Extract Audio.
This will create a seperate .wav audio file, and place it in the Library and your designated save folder.
Or, place the video clip in the Master track timeline > click Produce > click WMV.
In the drop down menu, chose Window Media Audio 8 Better than CD Quality > click Start.
This will produce a .wma audio file of your clip.
