Can't Copy and Paste URL in Messages on this Forum

Can someone explain to me why there is no simple copy and paste function in the "New Topic" window or "Reply" window on this forum. I wanted to paste a simple URL and do not see an option to do so. TeeMan

You need to use the little chain symbol in the toolbar for that.

You need to use normal keyboard commands. Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste. For links, simply paste the URL as text or use the link icon SoNic67 mentioned to embed it like this.

More than likely OP is using Edge for the browser which appears to have issues with Ctrl+V so for that browser the chain link icon as pointed out will still work.

That's correct, in Edge browser, copy/paste puts just the page title text, not the link. Example of above link, directly Copy/pasted:
