We are having to many problems with PDVD20 Ultra in our living room PC that is fed by a server. When video issues arise we try our old laptop with PDVD16 and it plays the video perfectly.

We want to remove PVD20 and install PDVD16 in the living room. Will the key for 20 activate a new version of PDVD16?

No it won't. I think you can message CyberLink support though and ask them for your old PowerDVD 16 product key if you lost it.
