PowerDirector 365 vs PowerDirector Free Download vs Power Director Essential vs PowerDirector 20

My renewal for PowerDirector 365 is approaching but it's gonna be GBP59.99 compared to what new subscribers pay (GBP41.99) which isa bit crazy.

So can anyone please explain the difference in features and capabilities between all these different versions of PowerDIrector:



Is the Free Download version of PowerDirector 365 a time-limited version or has big watermarks over rendered videos or whatever?

Also In the confusing comparison (https://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector-video-editing-software/comparison_en_GB.html) at the top it prices PowerDirector 20 Ultra at GBP79.99 but then lower down says it includes PowerDirector 20 Ultra priced at GBP109.99 ???

Thanks for any help on this.

PowerDirector Essential is a stripped-down editor. I can't imagine it would be anything but frustrating. But I guess it's a good introduction to the software.


The PowerDirector app is free but it's a pretty limited phone and tablet app. Not bad for free but hardly in the same category as PowerDirector Ultimate.

Thanks StevenG. Any idea about the Free Download of PowerDirector ? Is it time-limited or have missing features?

In all honesty, I have no experience with it.

The interface looks similar to the full PowerDirector -- but I'm sure it's much more limited. As I said, a nice introduction to the program -- though most likely it will leave you wanting more.

The "Free Download" version is PowerDirector Essential. They are one in the same.
