Resampling 8Hz Audio to 16Khz

Hello,

I have tasked with taking a 8khz .mp3 recording (a phone call) and resample it to 16khz.

A process is requiring a minimum 16khz recording - that is the reason.

Am I able to do this in Audio Director 365?

Also, I looked at some files - some say 8khz, other say other say 128 kbps.

I am trying to take an mp3 files and put it through Dragon Naturally Speaking but it error out - saying it needs 16kkhz or the file is invalid.

thoughts?

No, AD cannot create a 16kHz mp3 file, just 44.1kHz or 48kHz. Audacity can though if that is really the need.

I really doubt Dragon Naturally Speaking needs a 16kHz audio file, that is probably a minimum need for accurate transcribing.

Hello Veepo,

I'm not familiar with the Dragon software you're using, but it woulkd seem that Jeff's assessment is correct. i.e. the sampling rate must be at least 16kHz. For transcription, yes?
