how to rate a song or a video clip?

i made a playlist and i want to rate a song or a video clip in that playlist. how do i do it? when i click the right button on mouse it is not possible to use the rate option

Right clicking on the file in the playlist and selecting rate works for me. As does hovering my mouse over the Rate column on the right. Not sure why it isn't for you.

Maybe try re-importing your music library?
