I have applied a mask effect to a video in my timeline. Now the set duration option no longer allows me to trim it.
How can I get it let me trim the video?

"Set Duration" is only for pics in the timeline. You say video, it will always be inactive for video clips regardless if one applied mask effect or not. Trim video with the "Split" or "Trim" features above the timeline.
