PD 17 - Is there any way to adjust audio (stereo) balance from WITHIN PD?

This has probably been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find it with search. Too much chafe related to stereo output.

In my videos, I bring in audio clips that are in stereo. I often want to adjust the R/L balance, but the built-in audio editing of PD 17 seems to lack this rather basic feature.

What I do now is pull the audio into Audacity, adjust the stereo balance, then write it out and import it into PD. Messy and time consuming.

If I buy one of CL's audio tools that links to PD, would that allow me to adjust stereo balance directly, without leaving PD?

Have you tried Audio Editor in PD17, it's part of basic PD17 with no additional purchase? Limited but you can boost the gain on one channel independently.

You can? How? Attached is what I see when I do RC > Edit Audio > Audio Editor.

I can select one channel, but I don't see how to adjust gain.

Thanks!

When I drag the slider on the bottom up and down, in "edit one channel" mode, it still adjusts both.

Thanks so much!! Silly me, should have realized that adjusting the volume would be under "Dynamic Range Compression". ;=)

Not as good as the real-time slider in Audacity, but a whole lot better than all that back-and-forth.

Thanks again!
