Comics pack is gone

Hi.

Today I discovered that the Comics Pack for PowerDirector is missing. It used to be 18 PiP templates plus 12 title templates and 6 particle templates. Everything is gone.

My Application Manager says it is Installed and could therefore not be installed again.
I can't seem to find any files on my PC that belongs to this pack that could help me reinstall this pack again.

What do I have to do to re-install the Comics Pack?
How many other things has gone missing that I'm not aware of...?

Best regards,
Irina.

I don't know what's happened on your end but no packs are missing that I can see on my machine.

You can try uninstalling the pack using either the normal Windows uninstaller or by right-clicking on the pack in the App Manager like this:

After installing it again, you should see a little red dot next to the title room icon when you open up PD again, and hopefully the Comics Pack will be available again.

Thanks for a swift and possible solution. I didn't know I could right click and uninstall. Cool.

Now I've uninstalled the Comics Pack and also reinstalled it again. But in vain. No red dot and no Comics Pack to be found anywhere.

I have restarted Powerdirector 365 and now restarted both PC and Powerdirector 365 but no luck.
I checked for when I last updated PD365 and I suppose it was on March 31st. I have not used the Comics Pack after that date.

Could it have something to do with the last update ...?

Hi,

2 quick checks you can do:

Check your AR - if it's set to 1:1 it won't show any Comic Pack content

Check the location of the installed pack to see if the pack is actually installed.
C:\Program Files\CyberLink\templates\Creative Design Pack\Comics Pack

Should look something like the attached image.

Cheers

I've left my office for the night, but I'm sure your 1:1 aspect ratio tip is the correct answer. My current project is of course a 1:1 project.

Is there any reason why The Comics Pack is invisible when working in a 1:1 aspect ratio?

Thanks to you and optodata, I have learned two things today about uninstallations and that there could be differences between the 1:1 aspect ratio contra the others when using packs. Thank you both!

Hi,

I think CL tend to approach these things with a "helpful hand", in that if something isn't applicable it doesn't show, and therefore doesn't confuse matters.

I don't know if there is an intrinsic reason about 1:1 alternatives but the practical reason they don't show is that there appears to be no 1:1 content available in the Pack. If you look through the installed items - there are 4:3, 16:9 and 9:16 versions of each Particle object, PiP object and Title but no 1:1 versions available.

So - if they're not there, they're not there!

I can confirm that it was the 1:1 aspect ratio that caused my problem.
In the other ratios it works just fine.

Now I am aware of this. It might be a thing to consider when planning for upcoming 1:1 projects, the fact that other packs also could be disconnected in 1:1 and useable only in 4:3, 16:9 and 9:16 aspect ratios.

Thanks for information and solution!
