PD V19 MTS no audio

Importing MTS files has never been an issue. With 19, there is no audio. Here's the error message:

An error occurred when opening this media file
It may have unsupported or protected audio, or it could be for another reason.
You may continue editing the video part of the file only.

Very helpful...NOT. It could be for another reason????????

Seriously, ive just paid £79 to upgrade, and now can't import audio. All my files are MTS until the final production. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks for the response. Slightly frustrating as I don't really want to upgrade to Windows 10. Do you know if the KLITE codec package might work?

Dolby Digital is a paid licensed codec that is not free. They are unlikely to be included in free codecs. You can try and let us know if it works or not.

I have K-lite installed and it did not work on Win 7 I had to update Win 10 and may lose performance for editing, unfortunately. XEON-E5-2680 v4 / Mem. 16GB DDR4

Windows 7 is good for the older cpu. Windows 10 is better for the modern cpu with it's supported feature updates.

It's a PD issue/change, not a codec pack issue. You might consider ffmpeg or the like to simply reencode the audio to now PD19 compliant format. Some cameras also offer the ability to change audio encoding format going forward.

I'm suddenly having the same issue with 365.

No hardware or software changes have been made, and it's not an issue with my PC since the files play and edit fine with other software.

If I can't find a solution, I'll have to leave PowerDirector. There's no reason to have the software if it means I have to use OTHER software to hear my audio!

3 days ago I discovered that I have the same problem ( I have Win7 64bit). When I put MTS file from Sony RX-100 v. I (sound format AC-3 stereo) in PD365, I got error message and I had no sound track, only video. Strange thing is the fact that my old 16. version of PD was able to open it and I could work with this file. The same thing happened with old videos from DVD recorder in MPG-2 format (AC-3 sound). PD 365 was not able to open it, PD16 yes. Shouldn´t be newer version beter than a few years old version?
