PD Tutorials answered while I was typing, and until now I didn't think there were any official PDF manuals.

The way I've always done it is to press the F1 key or click on the "?" at the top right of the PD window and choose PowerDirector Help. That will bring up this interactive page where you can generally find the answers that you're looking for.
