How can I change .mp4 file time?

I'm using a GoPro. After transferring files from the camera to WIndows 10 all the file times are off by -8 hours. Some bug in the camera firmware been there for years. The transferred file times are UTC time, not the local time set in the camera.

Ive tried "Attribute Changer" but it reports a failure when I try to change the time.

Any experience here?
thanks!

BulkFileChanger typically suites my needs. Many utilities out there, not sure why your error with that particular utility, might be file related though and maybe no improvement with a different utility.

thanks. I tried. It wont do it either. Something to do with the embedded meta data.

Not sure on file location or how you have your login configured, you might try running with elevated privileges and see if that makes any difference.

Attached is a comparison of the Gopro video file time stamps when read from the camera and the time stamp after transfer to WIndows 10. The GoPro times are correct for when the video was taken but the file timestamp after transfer is -8hrs off. -8 hours is UTC time from my local time. For .jpg files taken with the GoPro the times are correct after transfer to Windows 10..

after reviewing the GoPro Community forum this has been a problem for years. And while GoPro is working the case for my particular camera,s I doubt very much there is a solution forthcoming from them.

Add the "Date Acquired" column in File Explorer to see the correct date/time info

No. Every column that is available to select with File Explorer with time is shown in the .jpg. I would have hoped the "Date Created" would have been local time but again its -8hours from the actual local time.

Not sure what any of this has to do with PD. In Win10, there are 12 date-related columns available beyond the simple Date, and GoPro clips all have Date Accessed, Acquired, Created, Last saved and Modified attributes set on my system:

As File Manager takes your time zone into account when calculating these dates, you may want to use PowerShell to override the existing metadata if BulkFileChanger doesn't work.
