While in Edit mode, some unknown actions, triggers fast forwarding of video and the sound gets muted

While in Edit mode, some unknown actions, triggers fast forwarding of video and the sound gets muted. Tried changing speed, mute/unmute but nothing happens. Only way to bring back normal state is to close PD and start again.
Need help to know hwy this happens and also how to restore normal state when this happens without having to exit PD.

There are way too many variables and possibilities for me to make a guess here.

I think the best way to get help would be to make a screen recording showing the kinds of edits you're making and how PD is responding. Upload the clip to YouTube or to OneDrive/Google Drive and paste a link to it here.
