I would like to create my own presets and templates for titles, effects, transitions, particles etc. How is it done in PowerDirector, What skills, softwares and other resources are required to get started with this?

Creating your own presets is easy, just save your creation and it will become part of the library and usable in other projects. AFAIK there is no possibily to save own presets for FX.

Creating templates in most parts of PDR is easy. All you need to do is format your title, particle, PiP object etc, then Save As to make the template for future use.
