Hi

In other applications when you enable ripple editing should you be able to move a single clip to the right all other clips after it also move with it to maintain its sync. Iv searched and found no way to do this. If you drag a clip over another to its right the only option is to insert the clip and move, this is not what I expect. This thread seems to suggest it is possible. https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/41972.page

Iv tried all key combos but nothing seems to work?

In this video bellow your see how this works in Movieplus X6.

Thanks Dan.

Hello Dan. There is no way to enable automatic ripple editing in PowerDirector. As you stated the only option is to select how you want the timeline to behave after inserting of deleting clips.

When you place a clip over another clip, use the trim tool, or delete a clip the options to overwrite, move all clips on this track, move clips on all tracks, leave gap, etc. are presented to you based on what you are doing.

Thanks for your reply. This is insane. If iv got 2 hours of clips that is to the right and I decide that I need to move a clip over another for a crossfade mid way Iv got to zoom right out, select all clips to the right, zoom back in, locate where I want the crossfade them move the whole lot over. As you see in the video it's turn on ripple edit select one clip move it.

Search the forum fopr "ripple" and you'll find several threads describing various ways of making that happen.

The approach that works best for you will likely depend on exactly what your timeline looks like and whether or not you want to limit the ripple to a single track or have it apply to all of them.

Thanks, I did a search before I posted this thread, I could not find any solution which comes close to what I need, Move a single clip and sync the movement of all other clips to its right.

This situation was I sliced multiple clips and cross faded them as I went. I then found I missed a crossfade in the middle of all the clips. The cross fades where made by dragging one clip over another before it.

What I expect is. Click on the button to turn on Ripple Edit. I move the clip over another to add crossfade and all other clips to its right move along.

Thanks,
Dan
