Vorrei sapere in che formato creare i video di buona qualità che però non siano troppo pesanti, ad esempio come posso creare un filmato di cinque minuti da inviare con wathsapp?
Grazie

I would like to know in what format to create good quality videos that are not too heavy, for example how can I create a five-minute movie to send with whatsapp?
Thank you

Whatsapp has a maximum file size of 16MB so you will have to choose a small pixel size and low bitrate to have a 5 minute video that small. The quality will also be very poor.

On the Produce page, the smallest produced file size comes from the Blackberry Magic profile, which will produce at 320x240 @ 18 frames/second and a bitrate of 375kb/second. This is a 4:3 aspect ratio:

If you have shorter videos, you can produce to higher quality profiles. Remember that you need to confirm that the produced video is smaller than 16MB before uploading to Whatsapp.

If you need HD (1920x1080/30p 16Mb/second) quality, you can only have 10 seconds of content before reaching the 16MB limit.

The 16MB WhatsApp limit mentioned may apply to iPhone, but WhatsApp on PC lets me upload 60MB.

That's really helpful!

That bigger upload size means you can produce a 5 minute video to Apple, iPad, MPEG-4 640x360/30p (2Mbps); or a higher quality 3 minute video to Apple, iPad, MPEG-4 1280x720/30p (3Mbps).

Kush Gauge calculator (google it) agrees with Optodata's 2Mbps for the 640x360 3 minute video, but surely the 1280x720 will require 8 Mbps for the same quality? (twice the pixel height, and twice the pixel width).

https://faq.whatsapp.com/general/i-get-a-message-that-my-video-is-too-long-and-it-wont-send?lang=en firmly says 16MB is the limit for WhatsApp, but I have definitely put up several videos up to 60MB over the past few months. Maybe we should avoid alerting WhatsApp to this!

It would, but this profile is not the same amount of detail.

2x pixel height and 2x pixel length = 4x more pixels, but the bitrate is only 50% higher, so the detail quality is 75% lower. The trade-off is for a bigger picture size, so I should have said something like "larger on-screen video" rather than "higher quality" in my last post.
