My PC equipped with a video card (ATI Radeon HD 4350 512 MB) but it is inactive in the power director. How do I enable it in Powerdirector?

Hi,

You need to first ensure you have the latest drivers for your video card. This is from the FAQ:

To enable ATI Stream technology in CyberLink PowerDirector, you must first make sure the latest driver for your graphics card is installed. You can get the latest driver on ATI's website (ATI Catalyst™ 8.12 Display Driver or above): http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

For ATI graphic cards, we strongly recommend that you install the additional package “Avivo” to enable ATI Stream. This package can be downloaded from the ATI website: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx.

Once that is done and computer is rebooted, go to the Editing tab in Preferences and enable it under GPU encoding.

Thanks David. I tried everything as you suggested. But no luck. The ATI is not enabled in Powerdirector.

Hi Deepu,

I do not use ATI Stream Technology, but plan to explore it in the future. However, if you go to Cyberlink’s “supported cards list”, you will see (at the bottom), a list of just which ATI cards that PD8 supports. I would assume that this list is current, as PD8 is relatively new.

Hi,

Based on the info from Cranston, the searching I did on the net, and the fact it is not enable after following those steps it appears that your card does not support ATI Stream. At least not the type that PDR uses.

I also purchased an ATI graphic card recommended from Cyberlink, then installed everything from ATI website. The checkbox still remained not accessible. I currently use PD7. For my 2.2 Mhz Athlon PC it is the utmost I could demand from it. But as I see, it is still an unresolved problem.

Since I read frequently, that it does not provide satisfactory results, I gave it up.
