Hello,

Would someone be able to explain to me what each of the blending mode do? Are they just filters?

There are

Normal
Darken
Multiply
Lighten
Screen
Overlay
Difference
Hue

The help file does a pretty good job explaining what each belnding mode does:

But you just need to select each to see which you prefer really when using them.
