PowerDVD 14: Stopped recognizing DVDs

During movie playback, audio dropped out and video went to half-speed.

Rebooted computer, and PowerDVD no longer auto-plays a DVD, for multiple DVDs.

DVD player (hardware) is working, as PowerDVD will display DVD contents, and will play (both audio and video) the inldividual files, which compose the movie.

Solved this problem with pre-installed software by downloading and installing other open-source DVD playing software.
