Hi Guys! Using PowerDirector 15...with a more than capable computer.

After editing HD video from my DV camcorder, (and sometimes rips from a DVD)
I go to "Produce" > Standard 2D ... I keep my edits down to about 1hr always.

1. Now, which options will produce the best quality result to save on my computer?
2. And which options will produce the best quality DVD to view on a HD TV?

I'm very confused about the settings, ie AVI vs MPEG-2 vs H.264AVC
AND then under "Profile name/Quality" the size ----x---/P and the Mbps.

I've read countless articles and now am more confused then ever.

I very much appreciate your guys knowledge and the fact that you are willing to share. I hope to help out someday as well.
Thank you.
Spike

The DV camcorder does not record in HD, only in 720 x 480/60i resolution in ntsc or 720 x 576/50i in pal territories. The answer to your question after editing is to produce at the same resolution as the source video. mpeg-2 720 x 480/60i (8Mbps) for the USA.

Hope this helps.
