[PDR17] GM5 2720 Beta Patch Now Available

CyberLink has released a Beta Patch for PowerDirector 17 for testing, which will update your PowerDirector to v2720. Please keep in mind that it is a beta version of the next GM release, and only install if you are willing to assist in the beta testing of this version.

Note: this patch is NOT for the subscription version, OEM versions, UWP versions, volume license, or versions purchased via Steam.

Release notes:
- Fixes the issue that the dual preview settings are reset after reconnecting to a secondary monitor.
- Fixes the issue that the program crashes when launching on specific platforms.
- Fixes the issue that the timeline marker position is changes after adding a saved project to the timeline.
- Fixes the issue that the disabled audio track is sometimes not muted in Batch Produce.
- Fixes the issue that the density parameter of Fire/LED Sign effect in Title Designer is different in the resulting video.
- Fixes the issue that the filled image of title backdrops is not included in packed projects.
- Fixes the issue that the input font size becomes incorrect after pressing the Enter key.
- Fixes the issue that overlapped PiP objects cannot be moved by dragging the blue “+” icon on the object.
- Fixes the issue that the incorrect path error displays when saving or sharing a particle template.
- Fixes the issue that vocal removal applied in the Audio Editor does not apply to created DVD/BD discs.
- Fixes the issue that produced HEVC video has incorrect aspect ratio with AMD hardware encoder enabled.
- Fixes the issue that split video will continue playing in Selected Range tab of Video Speed Designer.
- Fixes the issue that the unexpected system sound plays when pressing a hotkey in Trim window.
- Fixes the issue that the preview of split video is incorrect in Crop/Zoom/Pan window.
- Fixes the issue that the program sometimes crashes when seeking in a project that contains audio with the pitch effect applied.
- Fixes the issue that Detect Scenes is disabled when Media Room is filtered to video only and the first video is selected in library.
- Improves the compatibility of produced M2TS video on some NVIDIA 3D Vision platforms and 3rd party players.
- Improves the compatibility of MP4 files.
- Improves the seeking speed of specific MPEG video.
- Fixes the issue that titles color does not reverse when text is selected in preview window.
- Fixes the issue that double clicking on a title in the preview window will select all text instead of entering the full screen preview.
- Adds support for keyboard quick search for font types when the combo box is opened in the Title Designer and Subtitle Room.

PDM, since all these features were officially released on 3/27 to the Exclusive Subscriber Club users, what is it that you ask to beta test assist in? Simply that CL can develop a Windows install package? All the features have been officially released so nothing to beta evaluate there.

Hi Jeff,

Because of the differing release timing and protocols between perpetual and subscription updates, it was thought a "beta patch" would be something that perpetual users might find useful.

As we are advised that this is not an official GM for the perpetual version, we felt it probably best to mark it up as a beta patch. We also assume that the traditional pathway still operates for non-official releases, hence the beta testing point, until a full GM is released.
