Annual Subscription or one Off version?

Hi All,
New here having just tried an OEM version and found it's not compatible with Win 10

I'm looking at getting a retail version.
My question is re the subscription version.
If I take out the annual subscription, what happens at the edn of the year if I don't renew?
Do I just lose the online storage, unlimited downloads and updates; or does the software stop working altogether?

Just like any subscription, if you choose not to renew, you no longer have access to the service. In this case, it is for the use of the software and the cloud storage that comes with it.
