CyberLink has released a Beta Patch for PowerDVD 18 for testing, which will update your PowerDVD to v2611. Please keep in mind that it is a beta version of the next GM release, and only install if you are willing to assist in the beta testing of this version.

Note: this patch is NOT for the subscription version, OEM versions, UWP versions, volume license, or versions purchased via Steam.

Release notes:

- Resolves the error (code: 00002711) when launching program or playing Blu-ray/DVD movie discs.
- Resolves playback issues for certain YouTube videos.
- Resolves the issue that the program crashes when playing 3D videos.

Please fix the defective PowerDVD18 v2611 beta patch.

It is unsatisfactory for 480p video to not play or pin on PowerDVD 18!

[u][b]PowerDVD18 will now incorrectly play and pin some YouTube videos only at a lower resolution than the higher resolution offered by YouTube.[/b][/u] For example, video https://youtu.be/MmZexg8sxyk is offered by YouTube and plays on web browser at 480p. But, PowerDVD18 version 2611 beta will incorrectly only play and pin the same video https://youtu.be/MmZexg8sxyk at a lower resolution of 360p. This is only one example (there are many others).

Why would CyberLink ever make PowerDVD 18 not be able to play and pin 480p video when PowerDVD 18 can play and pin 360p, 720p, 1080p, and 4K video???

Has powerdvd ever supported 480p option for YouTube video playback?
So far as I know, NO.
I have been a powerdvd user since powerdvd version 15.
